The Master of Arts in Education program stimulates and guides elementary, middle and high school teachers toward higher levels of professional competency and intellectual maturity.
Baldwin-Wallace College is recognized for preparing teachers to assume greater responsibility and leadership in their schools and learning communities. Teachers graduate from the program with a Master’s degree that is highly respected in the educational community.
Building on a sound philosophy of education in a liberal arts setting, the MAEd is a non-thesis program requiring 34-42 semester hours to complete. A 12-hour core of foundation courses is completed prior to coursework in one of four specialization areas: Educational Technology, Mild/Moderate Educational Needs, Reading and School Leadership.

EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY
The MAEd in Educational Technology adds an endorsement to a standard teaching license. This specialization prepares teachers for the thoughtful use of technology to support teaching and learning in a range of educational environments. Candidates also develop skills helping to improve the technical competencies of their teaching colleagues.MILD/MODERATE EDUCATIONAL NEEDS
This intervention specialist license is valid for teaching students Kindergarten through Grade 12. Students earning the intervention specialist license in mild/moderate educational needs may be hired to work in roles such as a cooperating teacher in an inclusive classroom, small group instructor or transition service coordinator.READING
The MAEd in Reading adds the Reading endorsement to a standard teaching license. This program examines the developmental stages of reading and writing, with focus on evaluation methods and instructional approaches, diagnostic and corrective reading methods, research in literacy education, and a survey of child and adolescent literature.SCHOOL LEADERSHIP
The MAEd in School Leadership prepares teachers for leadership opportunities in schools, and leads to the principal’s license. School Leadership is also relevant for teachers who aspire to work within a school system on curriculum design, development and reform.This program is based upon the principal standards established by ODE (Ohio Department of Education), ISLLC (Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium), and ELCC (Educational Leadership Constituent Council).
