Student Comments
B-W undergraduates are quoted as saying the typical student "attends B-W to learn" and "tends to be involved in multiple organizations on campus." Community service is also "a big thing" with students. Undergrads say that "there is a decent mix of people" at B-W. They also say that "B-W is a small school so everyone knows each other". When not in class, students can be seen "at the Rec working out, getting coffee or gourmet dessert at the on-campus cybercafé, or lounging in one of the green spaces reading or playing a musical instrument." Students report that "there's a lot to do on campus. Almost every night there are at least four things you can go to, including concerts, sports, and other activities to participate in. B-W has more than 100 student groups." Students especially love the "outstanding Division III athletics in a very competitive conference. Sporting events are exciting year round." Students also appreciate that there "is no line" between campus and the surrounding city of Berea. "Within the bounds of campus there is a Walgreen's, several coffee shops, restaurants, a vintage thrift store, and several churches," one student explains. Nearby Cleveland is a popular destination that offers plenty of entertainment options. As for academics, students appreciate Baldwin-Wallace College for its "great professors, interesting people, and multitude of opportunities through internships, clubs, sports, and more." B-W undergrads say that "the greatest strength of Baldwin-Wallace is the excellent teaching staff. Since there are no teaching assistants, every instructor is high quality and many have been teaching for 10 to 20 years. Their courses are interactive, streamlined, and interesting." Class sizes are small, with most having between 10 and 19 students. Importantly, student note, "the school really wants you to succeed, and the faculty and staff are eager to help you do so."
